What We Ate | September 1-7

With summer wrapping up, I did some repeats of our summer favorites so on the food-front, not a whole lot of new offerings. BUT, the boys discovered how to dip so pita chips or crackers and hummus were popular snacks this week. They're also having a lot of fun sharing food (and drinks); feeding each other has turned into a game -- sometimes they follow-through and actually give the food to the other, many times it's a fake and they eat it themselves :)


Dinners:
Mon: Seafood chowder (recipe) with rice, pinto beans, green beans
Tue:  Seafood chowder with rice, sausage and corn-on-the-cob
Wed: Summer lasagna (recipe), tofu, peas and carrots
Thu: Summer lasagna, zucchini noodles (so easy to make with the vegetti), tofu
Fri: Zucchini noodles with turkey meatballs and tomato sauce
Sat: Turkey meatballs, leftover pork, grilled polenta with cheese, peas and carrots
Sun: Turkey meatballs, leftover pork, grilled polenta with cheese, lima beans

New fruit/dessert:
Homemade strawberry creamsicles (recipe)
Apple fritter from Nopa for brunch




New breakfast:
Zucchini pancakes (recipe) with Greek yogurt



New lunch:
Brioche sandwich with turkey, ham and melted cheese

New snacks:
Barbara's Shredded Spoonfuls
Freeze-dried mangos
Prosciutto
Whole wheat pita chips and hummus, we like to dip!
